2016 GIRLS IN ICT DAY EVENT

Venue: 27th of April: School Premises
28th – I-Famous Concept and Technology Office, Onireke Ibadan.
TARGETTED SCHOOLS: ST. LOUIS GRAMMAR SCHOOL AND ISABATUDEEN GIRLS GRAMMAR SCHOOL.
INTRODUCTION
It is a two-day programme aim at educating, informing and enhancing the reading culture of some selected students through the application of information and communication technology. The participants (girls only) were drawn from two famous secondary schools in Ibadan. The schools are St. Louis Grammar School situated at Mokola Ibadan and Isabatudeen Girls Grammar School situated at General Gas Akobo, Ibadan.
DAY ONE EVENT
On the 27th of April, 2016, some of our team members visited the above mentioned schools with the major aim of educating them. They were taught the art of reading. They were also taught the followings:
• Introduction to Internet Technology
• Fundamental of Reading
• Web Searching Technology
• Enhancing reading culture through the Information and Communication Technology
• Introduction to Electronic Books
• Application of Social Media tools in the promotion of reading culture
Total number of students from St. Louis Grammar School – 50
Total number of students from Isabatudeen Girls Grammar School - 60
DAY TWO EVENT
This event took place at the Oyo State Secretariate of the Computer Guild of Nigeria at Onireke, Ibadan North West Local Government complex, Onireke, Ibadan. The students were taught the practical approach to computing. They were taught the followings:
• Introduction to Computer
• Introduction to Data processing
• Typing with Notepad
• Typing with WordPad
• Drawing with MS Paint
• Working with Computer Calculator
• Working with Windows Explorer
• Shutting Down Computer
• Working with Microsoft Disk Operating System
• Working with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Corel Draw
• Introduction to Internet/Networking

Total number of students from Isabatudeen Girls Grammar School – 60
