The Government of the Republic of South Africa looks forward to welcoming delegates to WTSA-08, and greatly appreciates the honour that has been placed on our country to host the international community for this important event.

In undertaking this responsibility, as required in the Host Country Agreement for WTSA-08, the South African Security services have been working closely with ITU Security to ensure the safety of all delegates to the Assembly.

Furthermore, delegates will upon arrival be received by our Protocol Team at the OR Tambo International Airport and will thereafter be conducted to a dedicated transport shuttle service which will be available to ferry delegates from the airport to the various approved hotels and the conference venue. Furthermore, shuttle schedules will be available at the hotel lobbies for all delegates.

The South African Government is confident that the delegates to WTSA-08 will be secure and well treated during their stay in South Africa.
