Introduction

At the kind invitation of the Argentinean administration, ITU-T organizes a Seminar on ITU T hot topics for Standardization on 2 September 2009, during the Next Generation Networks Global Standards Initiative (NGN-GSI), IPTV-GSI, SG 13 and SG 11 meetings, and right after the Kaleidoscope academic conference "Innovations for Digital Inclusion". The Seminar is addressed to academics and experts interested on the standardization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).

Objectives

The main objective of the seminar is to share information on recent standardization developments about NGN, IPTV, car communication, accessibility and other multimedia services and applications. The seminar will also highlight aspects related to the systems interoperability, presenting experiences at regional and national level. In addition it will be analyzed the support to the participation of developing countries in the standardization work.

Logistics

The seminar will be held after the Plenary meeting of Study Group 13, which will take place in the morning of Wednesday 2 September. The starting time is foreseen at about 11:00am. The seminar will be organized in three Sessions dedicated to the hot standardization activities of ITU-T Study Groups, namely SG 16, SG 13 and SG 11.
