Alexander D. Gelman (ME, Ph.D., Electrical Engineering, City University of New York) is the Chief Technology Officer of NETovations, LLC – Networking Research Consulting Group. From 1998 to2007 he worked as Chief Scientist at Panasonic Princeton Laboratory managing research programs in consumer communications and networking. During 1984-1998 Alex was with Bellcore, lately as Director, Residential Internet Access Architectures Research. Alex is a seasoned IEEE volunteer. He served on many IEEE committees, three terms as IEEE Communications Society (IEEE ComSoc) vice president, a term on the Board of Governors of the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA), and is currently ComSoc's director of standards and a member of IEEE-SA Standards Board. He is the 2006 winner of IEEE ComSoc's Donald W. McLellan Meritorious Service Award.
