14th Meeting of the Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG) - Geneva, 28 - 30 January 2009

Conditions and procedures to apply for a fellowship

Participants who wish to apply for fellowships must have registered online and completed the fellowship section of the form before Friday, 12 December 2008. Requests received after the deadline will be considered on an "as possible" basis.

Eligibility
Subject to the availability of funds, one participant from a Least Developed Country and from countries with a GDP per capita less than 2'000 USD (with priority to LDCs) may apply for a fellowship if duly authorized by his/her Administration. While the number of delegates from any country is not limited, countries will bear the costs of any additional delegate.

Deadline and procedure
You are invited to submit your request for a fellowship no later than 24 December 2008 by completing the appropriate section of the online Registration and Fellowship form. You must first register online and then fill out the fellowship section as follows:

In the case of partial fellowships, all applicants will receive a confirmation of the share expected from their Administrations. At that point, the fellowship request can be confirmed or withdrawn by the approving officer who signed the form.

  1. register by filling out the entire form and print it.

  2. Once printed, press the "submit button" of the form. This will register your participation.

  3. Take the printed form, sign it, have it signed by the approving officer of your administration, get the form stamped (official stamp of the administration).

  4. Once complete, you may either scan it and email it to BDT bdtfellowships@itu.int OR fax it to +41 22 730 5778.

Airticket and subsistence allowance
Due to budgetary constraints, the countries beneficiaries of a fellowship may have to contribute partly to the costs of the fellowship.

A full fellowship includes one return Economy class airticket by the most direct/economical route from the country of origin to Geneva as well as a daily allowance to cover accommodation, meals and incidental expenses.

If the number of requests received and the budget available compel the granting of partial fellowships, all applicants will receive a message indicating the share expected from their administration. At that point, the fellowship request can be confirmed or withdrawn by the approving officer.

It is imperative that fellows be present from the first day to end of the meeting and participate during the entire fellowship period.
