This draft Recommendation defines the requirements for providing 3D model-based monitoring services and describes functional capabilities for a 3-dimensional model monitoring system by utilizing IoT sensing metadata. Three dimensional modelling is essential technology for IoT monitoring service, especially facilities to access difficulties by humans. For example, monitoring high-risk building structures, bridges, dams, monitoring natural environments, etc. This 3D modelling is important to predict potential risks (falling, peeling, cracking, etc.) in such environment. And, 3D model-based capabilities are to provide IoT monitoring services in smart city environments.
