Summary:
|
Electronic current limiters are generally integrated circuit components that operate sufficiently fast to mitigate impulse over currents. They are available in unidirectional and bidirectional forms, singles and pairs with constant current or re-entrant characteristics. Designing with ECLs requires a knowledge of the key parameters; series “on” resistance, the maximum current before limiting occurs, the maximum voltage withstand in the limiting condition and the reset voltage (for re-entrant types only).
