Summary:
|
It is proposed to define multi-vendor interoperable remote performance monitoring (RPM) mechanisms and possibly related application codes in Recommendation G.698.4. The RPM mechanisms shall allow the exchange of inventory information and periodically exchange of digital diagnostics using similar framing and transmission as in the current version.
It is also proposed to upgrade the self-tuning mechanisms in Recommendation G.698.4, to make better use of existing pluggable transceivers.
