Summary:
|
Semantic information communication is a technology that firstly selects, compresses, and transmits features from the raw signal, and then utilizes semantic information for communication. Its advantage lies in understanding tasks as the main body before transmitting, relying on semantic knowledge bases to extract semantics of images, sensing data, and text information, significantly improving the efficiency and reliability of NGNe.
There are several work item in ITU-T:
In 2016,SG 20 ITU-T Y.4111 “Semantics based requirements and framework of the Internet of things” is approved. The purpose of Recommendation is to specify semantics based requirements and framework of the IoT as a basis for further IoT semantics based standardization work, including semantic aspects for IoT services in different business domains, semantically enhanced IoT capabilities and others.
In 2021, SG20 ITU-T YSTR.SemComm.IoT "Architectural Framework for Semantic Communication Services in IoT and Smart City & Community" is initiated,the requirements and framework of semantic communication services in the Internet of Things, smart city and smart community as well as potential application solutions are described in detail.
In 2022, ITU-T Y.4484”Framework to support web of objects ontology based semantic data interoperability of e-health services” is approved. The recommendation specifies the framework to support web of objects ontology based semantic data interoperability of e-health services.
In 2022,SG 16 ITU-T F.JSQSUDAC “Requirements and functional architecture of joint semantic query system of unstructured data across clusters” has been initiated. Semantic search on the query of unstructured data is studied.
In 2022, SG 13 ITU-T TR.Reqts-SAN “Requirements of semantic-aware networking in future networks” has been initiated, The requirements of semantic awareness networks in future networks are studied and defined.
