Summary:

The global growth of international telecommunications connectivity has wrought a corresponding growth in valuable services that have contributed to advances in health, education, business and other dimensions of social and economic life. These services generate a large amount a large amount of data that have considerable implications on the use and management of international telecommunications networks.
Accordingly, ITU Member States seek a technical study on economic and policy aspects of Big Data in international telecommunication services and networks. Such a study may include a survey of the type and volume of data derived from international telecommunication services, the value derived from such data, and examples of policy and regulatory frameworks that support the productive use of that data.
The aim of the technical paper is to study the economic and policy aspects of big data in international telecommunication services and networks.
