A one-and-a-half -day workshop on “Origin Identification and
Alternative Calling Procedures” will take place at ITU
Headquarters, Geneva, from 19 to 20(AM) March 2012 prior to the
ITU-T Study Group 2 meeting to be held from 21 to 29 March 2012. This
workshop is jointly organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau
(BDT) and the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau (TSB).
Objectives
The goal of this workshop is to present the current situation with respect
to origin identification (including numbering misuse/misappropriation) and
alternative calling procedures (including call-back, refile, and “IP
telephony”) and to consider proposals for future work, if any.
Audience
Participants from ITU-T Study Group 2, which studies operational aspects of
service provision (Numbering, Naming and addressing) and telecoms management;
and
Any other participant who is interested in this topic. Participants should
be familiar with basic numbering, naming and addressing matters. Participation
from the development sector would be encouraged.
